A visitor visa allows individuals to travel to another country for leisure, tourism, meeting family or friends, or other purposes. It provides an opportunity to explore new cultures, connect with loved ones, visit exciting destinations and have new experiences.

 

What is a visitor visa?

To enter Canada, the majority of visitors require a visiting visa.
A visiting visa, often known as a temporary resident visa, certifies that you are eligible to enter Canada.
A visa officer has the authority to grant you a single-entry or multiple-entry visa and determine the duration of its validity. A visiting visa can typically be used for a maximum of ten years, or until your passport or biometrics expire, whichever comes first.

How long you can stay?

In most cases of visitor visa the visitors are allowed to stay up to the duration of 6 months. However, it is up to the border service officer, who provides you the exact limit of your stay. It may be more or less than 6 months depending on the officer. The visitor also receives a visitor record that confirms the date of departure. In certain cases, if a visitor does not receive a stamp on their passport then they are allowed to stay for 6 months or when their passport or biometrics expires, whichever is most recent. On the other hand, the super visa holders can stay for the duration of 5 years in Canada.
